How to Record a Call on Android

⚠️ Warning:
In some countries, call recording is subject to legal restrictions. You may need the other party’s consent before recording a call. Please check your local laws.

1. Using the Built-in Call Recording Feature (on some Android devices)
Open the Google Phone app (or your device’s default phone app).
During an incoming or outgoing call, if a “Record” button appears, tap it.
The recording is usually saved to Internal Storage > Recordings > Phone folder.

📌 Note: Starting with Android 10, Google has restricted third-party call recording apps. However, some manufacturers (like Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo) may still support this feature.

2. Using Third-Party Call Recording Apps
📲 Popular apps:

  • Cube ACR

  • Call Recorder – SKVALEX

  • Boldbeast Call Recorder
    (Some may require root access.)

🛠️ Features:

  • Automatic recording

  • Managing and sharing recordings

  • Cloud backup (Google Drive, Dropbox)

💡 Caution: Due to microphone access limitations in Android 10+, some apps may not work properly.

3. Call Recording via Google Voice (U.S. only)
If you have a Google Voice account, you can enable call recording in settings.
Only incoming calls can be recorded.
Press “4” during a call to start recording.

4. External Recording Methods
You can use a Bluetooth or wired voice recorder to record the call externally.
Some headphones or accessories may support this.

📂 Where Are Recordings Stored?
Typically found in the “Recordings” or “Call Recordings” folder in the Files app.
Exact location may vary depending on the app used.
