When you block someone’s number on an Android phone:

✅ Their calls no longer ring on your device.

✅ Texts (SMS) won’t show up in your inbox.

✅ BUT — voicemails may still go through!

That’s because voicemail is handled by your carrier (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.), not directly by the phone. The blocked caller’s voicemail usually goes into a separate “Blocked messages” or “Spam” section inside your voicemail app.

🛠 How to Access Blocked Voicemails

1️⃣ Open your Phone app.

2️⃣ Go to the Voicemail tab (or dial into your voicemail box).

3️⃣ Look for a section labeled Blocked messages, Spam, or Blocked voicemails — depending on your carrier.

4️⃣ Some carriers don’t notify you at all, but the messages are still saved in the system.

🚫 How to Stop Blocked Callers from Leaving Voicemails

Unfortunately, Android itself can’t fully block voicemails, because the phone can’t stop what happens on the carrier’s network. But you have a few options:

✔ Contact your carrier and ask for a service like Call Filter, Call Block, or Spam Block — some providers offer paid features to block voicemails.

✔ Use a third-party app (like Google Voice) that manages calls and blocks voicemails more aggressively.
